Adobe MAX was a couple weeks ago. It is one of those big events that I make sure to catch every year when it comes out. Adobe and Apple both bring out some pretty awesome creatives for their annual events. This year the biggest take away from both events combined was one of the artists, Shantell Martin, who presented during the Adobe Keynote, Creativity Is the Great Enabler. Check out Shantell’s work she is super awesome.

Much of her presentation spoke to me, but the big lightbulb moment for me was when she said “Say Yes to Yes. Say No to No”. So important, but not something I have not been very good at lately. After thinking about this it made me realize that I have been trying to fit a square peg (me) into a round hole (life) lately. It has inspired me to take a step back and reevaluate the places in my life where I have been saying yes to things that are miles away from my passions and priorities and those yeses have been making it necessary to say no to things that are pretty big parts of my emotional and physical health.

Today that changes!

I am the Master of my fate. I am the Captain of my soul.

William Ernest Henley

My ship is the only ship I have the power to steer. I need to follow my moral compass and stay on my own path. The third chapter in my book journey was all about health, for me it all starts with emotional health.

This draft has been sitting in my unpublished posts for a couple weeks. Since then I have been making a conscious effort to say yes to yes, and say no to no. It is already making a big difference in my emotional and physical well being. I have things to look forward to. I am making plans and setting goals that make sense for me. I am waking up earlier, working out, reading and feeling much better about each day full of opportunities I am given.
