2022 Year in Review

Best of the Best 2022 Here we are 2023 is knocking on the door, and we are about to say farewell to 2022. Hopefully quietly, with no fireworks involved, but I know better than to think we can get that lucky! So we will just stay home and be there to comfort our confused doggos. Really the best place for us to celebrate anyways :-)

Where We’ve Been Hiding!

A first peek at some of the footage from our trip to South Africa. Such a magical time. We traveled to a variety of awesome locations; The Kruger National Park, the small fishing town of Dullstroom, St Lucia along the Indian Ocean, Cathedral Peaks in the Central Drakensburg and finally the town of Clarens that I hope to someday call home (at least

Prayers for Cape Town

So I had to stop myself and ask, why is something happening halfway around the world affecting me so much? I have been fortunate enough to travel to many places on this spinning orb. What is it about my time in Cape Town that has my heart breaking as I hear the news of the devastating fire that is currently raging, not only on Table

What Does My Photography Mean To Me?

I don't know that I can honestly say photography has saved my life, but I can confidently say it gives me a life worthy of living. As I begin reading through the chapters in Rick Sammon's latest photography book, Photo Therapy Motivation and Wisdom: Discovering the Power of Pictures, I realize that the suggested exercises are something I sincerely need to take to heart. North Country Trail

Spring is in the air! Its a great time for us locals to get out and enjoy the nooks and crannies that will soon be chock full of tourists. This afternoon we had this glorious portion of the North Country Trail all to ourselves. The dogs had a blast! Such a joy to watch them. Rather than complain about the slippery spots, the

AKC Dog Show Mom

As the wise adage states, we fear what we don't know... Well, I no longer fear the AKC Dog Show. Leo and I popped our dog show cherry this weekend at the Birch Run Puppy Show put on by the Saginaw  Valley Kennel Club. As usual I was a totally nervous wreck of a mom. I have such a fear of letting Leo

A Day with My Boy

The camera was in LOVE with Leo today. What a wonderful time we had exploring the dunes. We had the WHOLE place to ourselves! We were out on the dunes for hours and only ever saw one other person at a distance. It was wonderful... So peaceful, and I was able to let Leo run without fear. A couple more weeks and the

Camping with Dogs

We had a wonderful weekend escape out at Muskegon State Park. The dogs kept us busy and also gave us a laugh or two. Life wouldn't be the same full wonderful joy without them. So many things I can attribute to my fur children. They keep my healthy by getting my butt off the couch to walk them. They keep me calm by

The Back Home Edits

I love to edit on the road, to still have the feel of the place in my blood while working the images. However, it is often the ones I work on when I get back to the studio that are dearest to me. I am often too in the moment to see the completed image in my head when I am on the road. Knowing
