Some days I still have to pinch myself when I look at our babies and think about how lucky we are to have them both. Tessie’s sister, Leo’s aunt, took Best in Breed at Westminster in 2016. And, featured above, is Leo’s poppa. Not only did he take Best in Show on the second day, when he returned into the ring to compete against Best in Show from Day 1 he succeeded in taking the Best of the Best Title at the ENCI World Dog Show in Milan, the homeland of the breed. I shutter to think!

We were just out to get a bird dog, and here we are with a that plus a show dog. I can’t say the adventure is without struggles. The world of show dogs is foreign to me and a little against my nature. Who am I kidding? A lot against my nature! But I’ve got this. I owe it to Leo, his daddy Dino and the breed to do all that I can. So here’s to Leo and all his siblings, relatives and breed mates!
